Plant the stems directly into a nutrient-rich substrate. A fertile substrate supports strong root development and vibrant green leaves. Provide low to medium light. Maintain stable water temperatures between 20-26°C. Supplemental CO2 is optional. Adding CO2 promotes tighter internodes, which results in a denser, bushier appearance. Ensure moderate water flow reaches the base of the stems. Good flow prevents the lower foliage from shedding or rotting.

Propagation

Propagate this plant by taking stem cuttings. You can also separate natural side shoots. Snip the main stem using sharp scissors. Plant the top cutting directly into the substrate to grow a new stem. The remaining cut base will sprout new shoots from the nodes. This predictable branching behavior allows for rapid multiplication and forms a thicker plant group over time.

Trimming

Trim the top sections of the stems when they grow too tall. Replant these healthy tops to expand the plant’s overall footprint. Discard the clippings if you prefer to maintain the current boundary.
